Technically doubling up on Webcomic of the Week this time around. Seeing as how the big Lost finale is coming this Sunday, I figured it would be a good time to look at the webcomics that have been so strongly inspired by the show and how ridiculous some of it seems. First up I’ll be covering Lost in Comics by JJ Harrison. Not a whole lot of strips just yet, but it’s a pretty good comic and it can really be appreciated by fans of the show. The comic takes funny little shots at different moments in the series, often specific moments in certain episodes. It’s even taken the time to poke fun at the creators.
Making jokes about Lost is pretty easy, but that’s not to say it’s any less enjoyable. I mean, tons of funny comes from Hurley alone, just for the fact that he’s a big guy on an island always cracking wise. But look at the different jokes everyone makes: Jacob’s kind of a hippie. Jack’s self-obsessed. Locke’s crazy (and dead, don’t forget dead) and Vincent… well, no one knows where Vincent is but it’s always funny to imagine that the dog was responsible for everything that happened. Lost in Comics does great work of making fun of the things we know are weird about the show, allowing us a way to take it much less seriously. I mean, let’s face it, some people are way too into Lost right now, especially now that it’s almost over. Lost in Comics is a pretty fun and interesting site for poking fun at a group of time-traveling castaways on a island filled with Egyptian relics and polar bears. I know, it’s like the jokes must write themselves.
But beyond Lost in Comics, I’d also like to cover Lost Comics, found on Twitter under the tag #lostcomics. A number of creators, including artists like Kate Beaton and Anthony Clark, have taken it upon themselves to do some short strips about Lost after each episode this season. They’ve done some great work and have illustrated the characters in amazing styles. I think Anthony Clark’s drawings of Hurley are my favorite thing ever. After each episode, on their Twitter pages, the artists will do jokes about what they’ve just seen, be it Richard’s lengthy stay on the island, or Sawyer’s many betrayals of other characters, or how often people get exploded by dynamite, they assemble many funny strips about the show.
I’ve enjoyed watching lost for the past couple years, and I’ve really enjoyed the many comics that poke fun at it, but I think I’m about ready for this finale. I mean, I’ll miss the comics. Boy will I miss the comics. But I just need some closure to this God-forsaken mystery torture. It needs to end. It really does.

I haven’t watched Tuesday’s episode yet because I’m an idiot and have been busy. Anyway, I read that first strip and am wondering if I just spoiled anything for myself.
