Shotokan Pilgrim – Nerd Shirt

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On April - 18 - 2012

Not Nerd Shirt of the Day, because that already happened, but this shirt is still cool.

If you’d like to buy one of these, head over here. It’s only available for the day.

Spock Pilgrim

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On October - 15 - 2011

I bet Spock Pilgrim would still play music. Whatever odd Vulcan music that that would be. His band would probably be called Vulcan Pin-inch. And that would be awesome. If you’d like to buy one of these head over here. It’s only available for the day.

Another crazy day at Comic Con coming up, so I can’t promise anything other than a lot of cool stuff this coming week.

Scott Pilgrim 6″ Figure Set – Toy Tuesday

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On November - 23 - 2010

This two Scott Pilgrim’s figure set is scheduled to be released sometime in April 2011, but if you feel so inclined you can pre-order them through Mezco (their maker) here.

Okay, these are going to be pretty long and drawn out, so bear with me, for this is going to be an arduous process for me and more likely than not for you, to truly cover everything I love and even the things I hate about the Scott Pilgrim series.  Now… I love this comic for what it is.  Yes, it has flaws, as does everything.  Nothing’s perfect, and I’m not about to argue that Scott Pilgrim even comes close.  But given how the movie hasn’t done well and you can’t go anywhere without hearing the word hipster used in reference to it, I feel like a real analysis of its roots, the actual black and white Oni Press series, is required.  What it does right.  What it does wrong.  Where it satisfies and where it leaves you wanting.  I’m telling you, there’s more to this than you might think.  It could just be that I make it my job to over-analyze everything I happen to like, but really I just want to equate it to there being more to this series than meets the eye, at least in some fashion.

Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Problems

Posted by Andrew Witts On August - 15 - 2010

Oh Scott Pilgrim, how you have fallen from grace. What started as a fantastic geek-centric graphic novel series about a 20-something slacker whose world is ruled by video games references and adoring characters has become a bit of a mess both on the page and on the screen. However, just because Scott Pilgrim isn’t what he SHOULD be, doesn’t make him worthless to experience at least once…does it?

Scott Pilgrim vs. the Animation

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On August - 13 - 2010

Last night a 4-minute animated short ripped straight out of the book Scott Pilgrim vs. the World aired on Adult Swim. I just did a quick comparison and the scenes in the animation look exactly the same and have the same dialogue as the book. The only difference is color and voices. Check it out below the cut.

Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour Out Now

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 20 - 2010

All I’m here to say is that the final volume of Scott Pilgrim has been released today, I have read it, and so should you.  Also, I’ve had a revelation that I intend to,  in the upcoming days/weeks, write a series of six extensive reviews that each covers a volume of Scott Pilgrim.  I’ll go over their triumphs, their faults, their everything and why they work for the series.  It should be fun to write.  So there.  Go get volume six.

Anamanaguchi’s Precious Little Songs

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 13 - 2010

Over on RadioMaru, Bryan Lee O’Malley’s blog, Anamanaguchi’s song ‘Another Winter’ has popped up as being part of the video game’s soundtrack.  It’s pretty impressive considering it’s music selected specifically for how much it will fit the game’s side-scroller style.  Anamanaguchi does some pretty awesome work with this stuff, making some damn fine music that should go very well with the game.  I definitely look forward to playing it, but I’ll bet the music from volume six will be even better.  What?  Books don’t play music?  Damn you all!

This movie looks SO good. I will see this at midnight if there is a midnight release, and I suggest you do too. But first, watch the international trailer below.
