The Never Not a Nerd Show – Episode 18

Rick claims if this show was a person it’d be legal. That’s weird. Rick’s a weird dude, like sexually. Ask him about his perversions on Twitter @rickstarke

24 Hours is So Long

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On August - 13 - 2011

Sony offers cloud storage as part of a Playstation Plus membership, which is great. I was really excited when they rolled that out because I live in a multi-PS3 household and some games think that the ability to copy game saves to USB would explode your head or something, so they forbid it. Look, I get it, you don’t want a nearly-the-end game save showing up online, but you can lock it to the original user profile.

Anyway, that might suck, but cloud saves were surely the answer right? Wrong! Once you upload a game save you have to wait 24 hours until you can copy it to another PlayStation, even though that cloud save is locked to your Plus account. Surely it was a temporary setback, especially considering Sony used cloud game saves as a talking point this past E3.

The 3.70 update came out this week, and along with it brought automatic cloud save uploads. Well, if it’s saving automatically to the cloud they must have done away with the dumb 24 hour waiting period, BUT THEY DIDN’T. You still have to wait 24 hours, and until that is changed they’re going to be tooting their own horn over a feature that is severely limited in its usage.

Who wants to wait 24 hours to continue playing a game on a different console? Bringing your PS3 with you seems like less of a hassle.

The Never Not a Nerd Show – Episode 3

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On June - 6 - 2011

This was segmented once again for your convenience. I realized that drinking makes doing the show seem less daunting, but also takes it way more off-topic.

I also had a guest co-host (Rick) and an off-screen commenter (Mike) on this week because Abdul couldn’t make it(he should be back for the next episode).

I promise next week I’ll get this collection up on the site earlier than a week later. The segments go up on our Vimeo account as they are done, so that’s the best place to watch them sooner.

Killzone 3 – Demo Impressions

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On February - 20 - 2011

Killzone 3 is one of those games where they want press to sell copies of it on launch day. Usually titles are embargoed to keep reviewers from saying anything about them until fairly close to the release date. I think sites have been posting reviews of the full version of Killzone 3 since a week or two ago.

Killzone 3 is a PS3 exclusive first-person shooter. It was developed by Guerilla games and will be released this coming Tuesday, February 22nd.

Video of the Week!! – Killzone 3

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On February - 7 - 2011

I’ll admit I haven’t played the Killzone 3 multiplayer beta yet. I’ll do that later today. This kill streak trailer shows you some examples of things you can do in the game and the point values you can expect to get from doing so. It seems like leveling up is going to either be a lot easier, or they made it more difficult to level up.

Ninokuni Looks Outstanding

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 1 - 2010

Ninokuni, a new upcoming game for the PS3, has been spawned from a collaboration of Hayao Miyazaki and his company Studio Ghibli with Level 5.  What’s great about this game is that IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A MIYAZAKI MOVIE.  I’ll admit that I’m not the biggest anime or even video game person, but you can’t argue with the looks of this game.  I don’t need to concern myself with PS3 and their weak attempts at doing “new, innovative things” (*cough*bullshit*cough*).  I just care about playing this game and having some serious fun.  I mean, just look at the gameplay on the next page.  You actually feel like you’re playing in a Miyazaki movie.  The environments and character designs and everything.  It just looks like it would be amazingly fun and really interesting.
