Video of the Week!! – Battlefield 3

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On October - 17 - 2011

One of the best aspects of the Battlefield games that utilize the Frostbite engine is the ability to destroy almost anything. I’d say aside from the audio the destruction is what sets these games apart. Check out the Battlefield 3 destruction trailer below.

The Human Predator

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On September - 10 - 2011

The original Crysis was a PC only game that required a beast of a set-up to play, and an even beastlier rig to play at its full potential. Crytek, the makers of the franchise, seem to realize that a lot of people playing this on consoles probably didn’t have the opportunity to play the first Crysis.

In Crysis 2 you play as Alcatraz, a United States Marine whose squad is ambushed by the aliens attacking New York City, and is then saved by the nanosuit wearing Prophet. Prophet tells you that he’s infected with the alien plague and it’s your time to wear the suit, then he shoots himself in the head to break the link with the suit so you can wear it.

Once you’re wearing the nanosuit the rest of the game is people trying to kill you because they think you’re Prophet, nanosuit diagnostics, protecting the fleeing civilians of New York City, and people trying to steal the suit for themselves. You also fight a lot of aliens along the way.

The Never Not a Nerd Show – Episode 9

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On July - 20 - 2011

The site is now two years old! The show is only 9 weeks old; young, but wise. When you think about it, it’s kind of weird that something that’s two has a “child” that’s 9 weeks old.

I’m currently working on the segments from the episode we just recorded, and some will be up tomorrow. Check those out on our vimeo page.

99% Sure You Couldn’t Take This On a Plane

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On April - 11 - 2011

If you really love Dead Space and have a good amount of disposable income, here’s something for you! It’s a 17x11x3 inch version of the plasma cutter from Dead Space. The listing says it’s actual size, but you’d need a monster TV for it to be that size(joke). It lights up and everything. So, if you’re a huge Dead Space fan, thought the replica plasma cutter that came with the special edition of Dead Space 2 was lacking, and have $220 just lying around, then here you go.
