It’s been out almost six months and SWTOR has seemed to have exploded and deflated, but I still love it. Initially I had a blast leveling up to 50 with my Bounty Hunter, but have since found myself playing it less and less. That particular character that is, not the game. Up until the recent patch 1.2 the end game content was fun, but not exactly challenging by any means. The difference between normal, hard and nightmare modes, consists of merely bosses with more life that hit harder, not the expected mechanic changes. I found myself disheartened by falling into the same MMO patterns of repeating daily quests and blowing through the operations and flashpoints.
You Were Born to Do This
Mass Effect 3 releases in just a few days. I’m so damn excited for that game. I’m probably going to be really bummed when I finish it, and I’m not going to pretend like I won’t cry if Garrus dies. Garrus is one of my favorite characters in science fiction, ever.
Anyway, the launch trailer for Mass Effect 3 came out yesterday. It’s epic. You know how people often hyperbolize everything by calling it epic? This trailer is actually epic. Check it out below.
New BioWare Crash-ness
I wanted to say goodness, but this is more accurately described as crashness. It’s hard to figure out what the hell this is supposed to be about. It does look like there is a flaming helmet in the bottom left to me though. What does everyone else think?
Damn You Jersey Shore
This is what happens America! This is what happens when you make a shitty cable show the highest rated thing on television! You confuse the poor Canadians up at Bioware into thinking they should model one of their new characters after someone that many of you would recognize. On the left is James Vega, a newly announced character from Mass Effect 3; on the right is Ronnie, resident d-bag from the Jersey Shore. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. This character needs to be focused on saving the galaxy, not tanning and his abs.
Before I hit “publish” I realized the Mass Effect character has a neck tattoo, so he’s obviously hard core.
Commander Shepard Hoodie – Mass Effect 2
Here I am trying to get you to buy something again. I don’t get anything if you buy anything I post by the way.
These hoodies just started shipping last week and damn, I really want one. $88 is kind of steep, but if you’ve got the cash head over here and snag yourself one.
Mass Effect: Evolution #3 – Preview
Issue 3 of the 4-part Mass Effect: Evolution mini-series from Dark Horse hits later today. Check below for the official synopsis and preview images.
Video of the Week!! – Dragon Age 2
I recently played the Dragon Age 2 demo(maybe I’ll write more about that later), and this is the trailer that plays at the end. It makes it seem as epic as it most likely will be. Check it out below.
Dragon Age II Combat Walkthrough
I really liked the first Dragon Age. Dragon Age II is improving on the speed of the gameplay, which is exhibited in the following video. If they voice the main character I’ll be stoked.
BioWare to Spread the Love
Hey, people who only own PS3′s, get excited because one of the best current franchises in video games is coming to you. Check below for the video.
Sci-Friday – Mass Effect
Mass Effect – This is a fantastic game. It came out in late 2007 for the Xbox 360 and early 2008 for the PC. In it you play as Commander Shepard(male or female depending on your choice), the first human to become a spectre, and the galaxy’s best hope for survival. You are tasked with tracking down Saren, a rogue spectre, who is enacting a plot to destroy the known galaxy with the aid of the inorganic race the geth.
If you have an Xbox 360 and haven’t gotten a chance to play this game it’s currently available in Games on Demand. Whether it’s available the same way for Windows I am unsure.
Stargate Universe – New episode titled “Human” airs tonight at 9PM EST on SyFy. Promo below the cut.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - New episode called “Death Trap” airs tonight at 9PM on Cartoon Network. Short clip under the cut.
Doctor Who - Tomorrow night at 9PM on BBC America brand new episode “The Beast Below” will air. Promo of the episode under the cut.
