Read These, Burn the Rest – May 26th, 2010

Posted by Dillon St. JeanDillon St. Jean On May - 26 - 2010

Hey!  I almost did all of this one myself this week!  Almost.  This is my list of things you should be reading.  Jamie usually says “Don’t actually burn any.”  But hey, I don’t have any control over your actions.  Just don’t get hurt, and only you can prevent forest fires.

Single Issues:

*

Amory Wars: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 #1 – Claudio Sanchez continues his legendary space-battle that follows the discography of Coheed and Cambria.

*

Batman: Return of Bruce Wayne #2 – Bruce is still Quantum Leaping through time, hoping his next leap will be the leap home.

*

Justice League: Generation Lost #2 – The remainder of the JLU continues searching for Max Lord, hopefully to break his neck again. Maybe they can have Captain Atom blow him up.

*

Marvel Zombies 5 #3 – Machine Man, still trying to overcome his alcohol addiction and loss of girlfriend, has opted to kill zombies with a duck.  This is literally what this book is about.

*

Power Girl #12 – I mention it only because it’s Palmiotti’s and Conner’s last issue on Power Girl, so I’d have to imagine they have something good in store for their departure.

*

Secret Avengers #1 – Have you even seen the lineup for this book? Nova? Beast? War Machine? ANT-MAN? Moon Knight, for God’s sake Moon Knight is on this team.  Just go get this book.

*

Secret Warriors #16 – Hey, didn’t Phobos kill dozens of Secret Service agents recently?  Are we going to see any repercussions for that, or what?

*

Teen Titans #83 – I love how much time they’re spending looking for Raven when Kid Eternity was kidnapped, like, ten issues ago and no one has said a damn thing about him.

*

Thor #610 – Thor finally faces off against Ragnarok, the clone of Thor created during Civil War. Which was clearly a good idea, given how many rampages it’s gone on lately.

*

Thunderbolts #144 – So Luke Cage is in charge of a new group of former(?) villains who want to do good(?)  Man-Thing is in this book.  Giant-Sized Man-Thing jokes are BACK IN STYLE, BABY!

*

Ultimate Comics Enemy #4 – I heard a theory that the villain in this book is actually Reed Richards trying to get his life back on track.  Despite that being a good premise, I’d be so pissed.

*

Collections:

*

Invincible Vol. 12: Still Standing (TPB) – Invincible must once again fight Angstrom Levy, whom you’d have thought was dead after that whole “head smashed into nothingness with my fists” thing occurred.

*

Spider-Man Complete Clone Saga Epic Book 2 (TPB) – Continue reading what some say is the worst Spider-Man story in history.  I don’t know, I read Sins Past.  That was pretty awful.

    hey, nice job.

I didn’t make any picks this week. So unofficially I think you should buy Superman:War of the Supermen #4, Cold Space #2, and Terminator #3.
