Wednesday is new comics day. Here’s what you should be checking out later today. And don’t actually burn any.
Single Issues :
American Vampire #2 – Stephen King’s first ever original comic title about how vampires have evolved over the years in the United States. Cowboys and Flappers as vampires. It’s pretty great.
Captain America: Who Won’t Wield the Shield #1 – Deadpool and Forbush Man on the cover? That is quite literally all you need to see to want to buy this.
Green Lantern #53 – The first issue of Green Lantern under the Brightest Day banner. Still awaiting a Atrocitus and Larfleeze title.
Joe the Barbarian #4 (of 8) – The adventure of a young man with diabetes hallucinating after a drop in blood sugar continue here. Perhaps he and his giant rat friend will find their way to some sugar.
Sif #1 – Expanding on the adventures of Thor by focusing on the woman warrior of Asgard.
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #9 – So, if Human Torch is pretending to be Spider-Man’s cousin, and Human Torch makes out with Spider-Man’s clone, Spider-Woman, is that, like, cousin-loving?
Collections :
Invincible Ultimate Collection Vol. 5 – Invincible furthers his struggles against the Viltrumites as well as the returning villain Angstrom Levy. Not to mention his hardcore murderous little brother.
Y: The Last Man Deluxe Edition Vol. 3 – Yorick Brown, escape artist and last man on Earth keeps on truckin’ to find his girlfriend and the cause of the deaths of all the other men.
Jamie’s Picks :
DV8: Gods and Monsters #1 (of 8) - The fact that it’s written by Brian Wood is intriguing enough for me.
