Read These, Burn the Rest – Week of May 1st, 2013
It’s the week of Free Comic Book Day. Does that mean a smaller list of must-haves? Read on to see.
These are the books you should be checking out when they come out today.
BlackAcre Vol.1 - I’m a sucker for future dystopia.
Black Bat, The #1 - A classic character from the 30’s brought back. It sounds kind of like Batman meets Daredevil, and The Black Bat no doubt inspired both of those characters.
Hawkeye #10 - One of the most talked about comics recently. Maybe it’s time I jumped on the bandwagon.
Mister X: Eviction #1 - It’s a #1, and it’s backed by Dark Horse. That’s really enough for me to recommend it. Other than that it’s a weird noir-ish tale with sci-fi elements. I dig it. Give it a look.
Movement, The #1 - A cliche sounding “oppression fighting” team book from DC. I’ll have to check it out.
Suicide Risk #1 - As villains are destroying the world around him a normal cop contemplates a risky way to gain powers.
Ten Grand #1 - “Would you endure an eternity of pain and death, dying over and over, to be with the woman you love for just five minutes each time you died? Most people might say no. But Joe Fitzgerald isn’t most people.” DC had a book that that description reminds me of, but I can’t remember the name of it. Either way, this sounds interesting. Hopefully it’s better than that DC book. It was Resurrection Man. That’s what it was called.
Victories, The #1 - This is the continuation, in the form of an ongoing series, of the 5-issue miniseries “Touched”
