This is the first in a trio of glorious movies I will write about that I have recently seen in 3D. I had the lowest expectation for The Final Destination, both on quality of the overall movie and how good the 3D would actually be. Surprisingly enough the movie was incredibly stupid, yet very watchable, and the 3D was done very well.
YAY:
- 3D! There’s no shortage of gore and various other things that seemingly fly off of the screen toward you.
- The elaborate death scenes, while not at all scary, are usually completely ridiculous and end up making you chuckle.
NAY:
- As I said earlier, this movie is very very dumb. The plot is razor thin and it is exactly the same as all of the other movies. “I think we finally beat this and we’re not going to die!” No, you’re very much going to die, but at least it will look kind of cool
- Like I said, the 3D is very cool, but it is really the only reason to see The Final Destination. If you haven’t seen it yet it will probably be hard to find in 3D seeing as how Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and the Toy Story double feature are out right now.
