Today is the 25th anniversary of the release of Back to the Future, so watch it.
Weekend Wonderer – Back to the Future & Something Appropriate
Possibly the Coolest Hoodie Ever – Nerd (Shirt) of the Day
This is the Dr Whoodie by Bramish and if you don’t vote for it to become purchasable here, then everyone will know you’re a Dr Who hating alien. Or possibly a Dalek supporter.
Here’s Your New Spider-Man
Here’s your new Spider-Man for the reboot set to hit theaters July 3rd, 2012. His name is Andrew Garfield and I can’t say I remember seeing him in anything. I can’t really complain about his age, because he’s only a month older than Donald Glover (they’re both 26). I think out of all the people they said auditioned Josh Hutcherson might have been the most age appropriate, but hey whatever. We’re going to have to wait 2 years to see how this turns out anyway.
What Would You Do for a Flying Car?
Terrafugia has just gotten their newest little creation, the Terrafugia Transition, “off the ground.” (Oh God I’m so clever) Apparently the FAA has classified it as a light sport aircraft, technically giving it a free pass despite being a little heavier than the cutoff point. This is pretty crazy. I’ve been waiting for flying cars for a while now. It’s not exactly what I was thinking (kind of pictured more of a wingless concept, maybe capitalizing on anti-gravity or something) but hey, I’m thoroughly intrigued. Now all that’s keeping me on the ground is a fear of heights/fear of my own ability to fly an aircraft of any sort.
Ninokuni Looks Outstanding
Ninokuni, a new upcoming game for the PS3, has been spawned from a collaboration of Hayao Miyazaki and his company Studio Ghibli with Level 5. What’s great about this game is that IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A MIYAZAKI MOVIE. I’ll admit that I’m not the biggest anime or even video game person, but you can’t argue with the looks of this game. I don’t need to concern myself with PS3 and their weak attempts at doing “new, innovative things” (*cough*bullshit*cough*). I just care about playing this game and having some serious fun. I mean, just look at the gameplay on the next page. You actually feel like you’re playing in a Miyazaki movie. The environments and character designs and everything. It just looks like it would be amazingly fun and really interesting.
Poison Apple – Nerd Shirt of the Day
This an older shirt, from the beginning of the month, but you can still purchase it here. Flash isn’t having that good of luck with Apple(s) nowadays.
I Heard You Are Hiring in the Mail Room
That’s exactly what I think of when I see this image of the new Wonder Woman costume. It looks like they’ve redone her look so she can be more everyday appropriate, but still ‘hip’.
I can’t tell where her shoes end and her pants begin. I also hope for her sake that there isn’t a strong gust of wind at lower-back height.
Check out Jim Lee’s explanation of what is going on here, and an image of her in action in the new costume under the cut.
Check this out, ladies and sirs. Outstandingly, the Potomac Council of the Boy Scouts of America have chosen Dr. McNinja as their patch emblem. The only problem is that we’re only going to get a shot at the remainder of the patches at the 2010 National Jamboree starting July 26th. Supplies are limited, whatever that means. I just love that they’ve chosen Dr. McNinja as their logo due to the Doctor’s home of Cumberland, Maryland being part of Potomac Council. So yeah, unless you’re a member of the troop and you’re going to be at the Jamboree, you’re gonna have to wait. Check it out here.
Read These, Burn the Rest – June 30th, 2010
I”m pretty sure the Nazis burned books all the time. You terrible, terrible Nazis. Nah I’m kidding, you’re good people. Or not, I mean how the hell do I know? Never mind, just take a look at the picks this week kids.
Spider-Ham 25th Anniversary Special #1 – Preview
The art in this is so AWESOME that I need to show everyone some of it. Buy this issue if only to stare at the rest of the pages. Check below for the official Marvel synopsis and the images. (I wonder if that cover has “Anniversary” spelled wrong on purpose)
