Killzone 3 – Demo Impressions
Killzone 3 is one of those games where they want press to sell copies of it on launch day. Usually titles are embargoed to keep reviewers from saying anything about them until fairly close to the release date. I think sites have been posting reviews of the full version of Killzone 3 since a week or two ago.
Killzone 3 is a PS3 exclusive first-person shooter. It was developed by Guerilla games and will be released this coming Tuesday, February 22nd.
Harsh Made Beautiful – It may be in 720p and take place on a planet that houses your “space-nazi” enemies, but damn does it look good. Even as a demo this is one of the nicest looking games out right now.
JETPACK! – While it didn’t feel like the game changer I bet a lot of people hoped it would be, the jetpack is quite cool. So are all the other weapons at your disposal inside Killzone 3.
An Epic of Epic Epicness - While the multiplayer is going to be the majority of this experience, the trailer at the end does a great job of setting the stage for a fairly epic storyline. I just hope it can hold to the expectations the video(see below) set for me.
Where It’s At – I also played the multiplayer beta and if you like to play first-person shooters than this is going to be worth your time. It carries over the class structure from Killzone 2 and includes a few new additions, one being an Operations mode that includes capturing points and setting/diffusing bombs. Something that people like myself who easily get bored of deathmatch modes can really get into.
Killzone 3 was one of my most anticipated games of the year before I played the demo(s), and after playing it I want this game even more. They’ve done a great job of increasing interest in the title.
