Johnny Wander Volume 1

I just got my copy of Johnny Wander Volume 1 in the mail, and I just read it, and it’s incredibly awesomely amazing.  Even though I’ve read it all before it was pretty much like reading it for the first time, meaning lots of me laughing and enjoying the hell out of it.  But you know what’s better than volume 1?  Volume 1 with a signed foil on the first page, a top hat drawn onto the Maw on the inside cover (that I specifically asked for, thank you) AND a sticker AND a Johnny Wander card.  I had actually been waiting a long time for the first collection to come out, and I can safely say it was even better than I expected it to be.

In case you don’t remember (and you probably don’t) I reviewed Johnny Wander for Webcomic of the Week a while back (one of the first comics I reviewed).  Maybe reviewed is a better term than what I should use.  I mean, my reviews aren’t really reviews so much as they’re elongated recommendations.  But yes, I recommended Johnny Wander by Ananth Panagariya and Yuko Ota as it’s one of the webcomics I actually read on a regular basis (along with things like Boxer Hockey, Nedroid, Let’s Be Friends Again, etc.)  So I figured now would be a good opportunity to inform you that their first book has been released, and it is pretty damn good.  You can order a special edition of the book which will come with all the things I mentioned (except for the hat of your choice, they got too many orders and had to dial it back to a hat of their choosing).

I don’t have a lot of webcomic collections signed, but this will go nicely with my signed copy of Joe Loves Crappy Movies Volume 1 and my first two signed-and-sketched-in volumes of The Adventures of Dr. McNinja.  Seriously, this is going to look pretty good on my bookshelf.  I can’t wait to get volume 2 next year.  So yes, go over to Johnny Wander and get yourself a copy of the book.  You’ll like it.  And they’ll appreciate you buying their book, I’m certain.  So do that.  Right HERE.
