I know this has nothing to do with the movies. I just thought it was ironic that the character whose actor just filmed a movie as another Marvel character died recently.
I’m sorry if this was a surprise to you. The issue he dies in was released just over two weeks ago.
It happened in a way a lot of people expected it to, while Johnny and Ben(in human form) were fighting the insectoid army. After it was decided someone needed to stay on the other side of the portal to close it Ben states how it’s going to be him. At the last second Johnny grabs him and throws him through the portal back to Earth. The next few pages are quite touching as Johnny accepts his fate, and Ben (who just turned back into The Thing) looks on and sheds a tear as he watches his friend sacrifice himself as the portal door closes.

So…they didn’t actually show his mangled corpse being devoured by insects. Chances are he’s still alive..or maybe I’m hoping a little too much.

He is actually lying on the ground with the view of him partially blocked by the insectoids in the last frame you see him. They didn’t actually show him getting eaten though.
Give it a year or two – Johnny Storm will return for the dead… but it will turn out he was never dead in the first place… something like that!
Come on, he is not dead. If Jonathan Hickman was going to kill a legendary character like Johnny Storm then he would show us his dead body. It’s Obvious, he want’s to do the “Michael Jackson sale trick”
