The new television season is doing a little bit of a kick-off this week. While I have only managed to watch half an episode of Jay Leno’s new show there are a few shows airing tonight that are definitely worth your time.

Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday Sept 17th 8PM NBC
I don’t really understand the idea behind this show. Why is there a weekend update three days before the show on Saturday? Well anyway, I’ll be checking this out tonight.

Parks and Recreation Sept 17th 8:30PM NBC
This is a quirky documentary style comedy that debuted earlier this year. A lot of people called it a not-as-funny version of The Office. While Amy Poehler stars, Aziz Ansari is the best character in this show.

Fringe Sept 17th 9PM Fox
I missed the first season and am very curious about this show. I’m going to give this season two premiere a whirl and see if tracking down the season one DVD’s will be worthwhile.
The Office Sept 17th 9PM NBC
I honestly might not watch this tonight. I have only seen one episode beyond the second season of this show, and that was on a plane. It’s not because I don’t want to watch it, I just haven’t. I’ve liked what I’ve seen though and recommend you check it out.

Community Sept 17th 9:30PM NBC
One of my two ‘must watch’ shows of the night. I’m kind of skeptical about Chevy Chase being in this show, but I’m a Joel McHale fan and am excited to see this.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Sept 17th 10PM FX
If you watch one show tonight make it this one. If you’ve never seen It’s Always Sunny I’m sorry to hear that, because you are missing what is arguably the funniest show on tv. Don’t worry though, the episodes aren’t chronological, so you can jump in tonight. You’ll probably want to go buy the DVD’S for the first four season’s tomorrow too.
