MOVIES:
The Hurt Locker – One of the most critically acclaimed movies of last year. Speaking of awesome movies of 2009, look for our 10 Best Movies of ’09 later on this week. Available on DVD & Blu-Ray.
Moon – The less you know about this movie the first time you see it the better. Definitely check it out though. Available on DVD & Blu-Ray.
Halloween 2 – A sequel to a re-launching of a storied franchise. Kind of like what Christopher Nolan did with The Dark Knight, only by Rob Zombie and way less good. Available on DVD & Blu-Ray.
In the Loop – A critically applauded political satire. I haven’t seen it yet, so I can’t say much else about it. Available on DVD & Blu-Ray.
Big Fan – Comedian Patton Oswalt takes a dramatic turn as an obsessive Giants fan. Available on DVD.
Last Action Hero – What is probably the funniest movie ‘Ahnold’ is in comes to Blu-Ray. Be careful before buying this one though. A lot of older Schwarzenegger movies that come out now on Blu-Ray don’t look that great and have zero special features. Amazon is claiming this has BD-Live, so if that isn’t your thing check some reviews to see if the picture quality is worth the upgrade from DVD.
8 1/2 – Criterion Collection Blu-Ray of the Fellini classic. Take this as an apology to the Bicycle Thief comment I made earlier.
Nun of That – I kind of just stumbled upon this and it sounds AWESOME. An action/comedy about a group of supernatural vigilante nuns on a mission to take out the mob. This is definitely on my list of movies to see. Available on DVD.
TV :
Transformers: Season 2, Volume 2 25th Anniversary Edition – I loved this show when I was younger. I recently started watching these episodes again and was almost awestruck by how ridiculous it is. I think I just need to give it more time. Available on DVD.
The Simpsons: Complete Twentieth Season – Some people may find it odd for them to release Season 20 after the last season released on DVD was twelve. Well, The Simpsons are officially celebrating their 20th Anniversary. if you missed the special last night shame on you. And even better, this season is also available on Blu-Ray. Available on DVD & Blu-Ray.
