Come November Xbox Live Will Cost More

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On August - 30 - 2010

Microsoft announced earlier today that starting November 1st Xbox Live Gold accounts will increase in price. They cited the addition of ESPN as one of the reasons for the price increase.  If you’re a current Xbox Live Gold member you probably also got an e-mail about how you can get a year for $39.99 if you purchase it now.

Here are the new prices starting November 1st.

59.99 instead of 49.99 for a year.

24.99 instead of 19.99 for 3 months

9.99 instead of 7.99 for 1 month.

So, This Guy Made a Plasma Rifle

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On August - 26 - 2010

The A3-21 Plasma Rifle from Fallout 3 to be exact(bottom). How amazing does the craftsmanship look on that? He also made the AER9 Laser Rifle, also from Fallout 3(above). You can check out the rest of his photos of them here.

It turns out the creator of these is an animator in the games industry. If prop work paid more he might want to look into that.

In the picture above is a four-barreled shotgun. This game looks better the more I see of it. The quality of this video isn’t great, but the awesome substance is there. Check out the video below.

Street Fighter X Tekken

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On August - 16 - 2010

This is a super early gameplay video of the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken game. This is the Capcom version done in the Street Fighter IV engine (Namco will be doing a 3D version in the Tekken 6 engine). There’s a lot of crowd noise and people yelling things, so be warned. Check it out below.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dreams

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 21 - 2010

Aaaaaaaand the last dimension listed for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is Ultimate Spider-Man, but during his time with the symbiote.  What a load of bullshit.  Way to try having your cake and eating it too.  They wanted the intrigue of black suit Spidey along with the popularity of Ultimate Spidey.  Cheaters.  Cheaters I say!  But in honesty I don’t know that I should have expected Spider-Ham or anything similar to be the last remaining character.  They kind of had to keep things within the realm of familiarity with most fans, and while people like myself may enjoy the everyday Peter Porker joke, I can get why they’d do this.  It just seems like a wasted opportunity to do really wild versions of Spider-Man.

Sonic Colors is for Kids, as Proven by Embarrassing Headgear

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 14 - 2010

So guess what?  If you pre-order for the game Sonic Colors you get a Sonic the Hedgehog hat.  Look upon this helmet and despair.  If you see anyone wearing this hat, please, please pelt them with garbage.  This is just a shameful display of fandom.  I’d sooner get some fake dreadlocks and spray paint them red to get some sweet Knuckles action going.

Anamanaguchi’s Precious Little Songs

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 13 - 2010

Over on RadioMaru, Bryan Lee O’Malley’s blog, Anamanaguchi’s song ‘Another Winter’ has popped up as being part of the video game’s soundtrack.  It’s pretty impressive considering it’s music selected specifically for how much it will fit the game’s side-scroller style.  Anamanaguchi does some pretty awesome work with this stuff, making some damn fine music that should go very well with the game.  I definitely look forward to playing it, but I’ll bet the music from volume six will be even better.  What?  Books don’t play music?  Damn you all!

Hey, PlayStation Plus is Available

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On June - 29 - 2010

If you turn on your PS3 right now you should be prompted to update to firmware version 3.40. On top of that, if you go to the PlayStation Store PlayStation Plus should be available to purchase. The service runs $49.99 for a year(plus 3 additional months, so 15 months) and $17.99 for 3 months.  If you’re confused about what you actually get, and that talk of only being able to use games you get for ‘free’ while a subscribing member, you can find a lot more info than I should try to summarize or paste into this post here.
