Yes, Verizon’s iPhone Will Be Here this Week

Posted by Maxwell Thunderbird On February - 8 - 2011

Whether you can’t wait to buy an iPhone on a network that will tell you their data is unlimited, but throttle you if you use too much of it. Or if you are sick of AT&T dropping all those calls no one really makes anymore, Verizon’s iPhone is almost here. Check below for two completely over-dramatic commercials.

Verizon to Release iPhone in Early February

Posted by Elizabeth Adams On January - 11 - 2011

Much to everyone’s expectations (especially John Oliver’s, who filmed his reaction to the big announcement before it even happened), Verizon revealed that they will finally be releasing a CDMA version of the iPhone next month. Steve Jobs was not on hand this morning but Verizon CEO Lowell Macadam was there to make the big announcement, followed by Apple’s Tim Cook and Dan Dee to talk about the device. In fact, not much was said about the device itself (hopefully meaning no big changes), but a lot of emphasis was placed on how ready the network was to handle the iPhone/influx of new customers and not find themselves having the problems AT&T is now.

Pricing will start at $199 for the 16GB and $299 for the 32GB (mobile hotspot included), both with new 2-year activation and data packages required, of course. Pre-order for existing Verizon customers begins February 3rd followed by its release on February 10th.

Daft Punk Helmet

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On January - 6 - 2011

Daft Punk is one of the most successful electronic music acts ever. They’ve always been popular, but have exploded in popularity since they had one of their songs sampled by Kanye West, their music featured in DJ Hero, and appeared in/scored Tron Legacy.

Knowing all of that, aren’t their helmets awesome? Check below the cut for a video montage of someone making one of the helmets in their spare time. I want one!

Samsung Epic 4G – Review Round-Up

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On August - 31 - 2010

Earlier today Sprint released another 4G phone, the Samsung Epic. It has a 1GHz processor, Android 2.1 (where’s 2.2?), a 5.0 megapixel camera that records video in 720p, a front-facing camera for video chat, a 4″ Super AMOLED screen, and a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

It’ll cost you 249.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract. Just like the HTC EVO 4G there is a mandatory data fee of $10 a month for 4G even if you don’t live in a 4G market.

Enough of that, on to the reviews!

What Would You Do for a Flying Car?

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 1 - 2010

Terrafugia has just gotten their newest little creation, the Terrafugia Transition, “off the ground.” (Oh God I’m so clever)  Apparently the FAA has classified it as a light sport aircraft, technically giving it a free pass despite being a little heavier than the cutoff point.  This is pretty crazy.  I’ve been waiting for flying cars for a while now.  It’s not exactly what I was thinking (kind of pictured more of a wingless concept, maybe capitalizing on anti-gravity or something) but hey, I’m thoroughly intrigued.  Now all that’s keeping me on the ground is a fear of heights/fear of my own ability to fly an aircraft of any sort.
