Crystal Antlers – Two-Way Mirror

Two-Way Mirror is an odd, and hard album to define. It’s post-hardcore and post-punk while sometimes sounding like an ode to the rock of the 60′s/70′s. It’s definitely an album worth checking out. Which you can do here.

The Flaming Lips with Lightning Bolt with The Flaming Lips

I just listened to the 12″ collaboration between psych-pop band The Flaming Lips & noise band Lightning Bolt, and all I really have to say is that it sounds exactly like you’d expect a collaboration between the two bands to sound. Side A is The Flaming Lips featuring Lightning Bolt while Side B is Lightning Bolt featuring The Flaming Lips. You can check out the songs here.

Vampire Weekend – Contra

I originally had the idea for pitch-sized reviews for music reviews, but it’s a movie pitch practice/line from The Player I got it from, so movies fit naturally into it.  Just because something gets a pitch-sized review doesn’t mean it won’t get a full review. I think we proved that with Gamer.
