This post comes later in the day than I wanted it to. Every Monday from now on I’d like to post an album that I think everyone should check out. This week’s album is Beach House’s 2008 album Devotion. The songs are under the cut.

Music Video of the Week!! – Future of the Left
Andy Falkous of Future of the Left, originally of Mclusky, is a great frontman. I’ve always dug the stuff he’s been involved in. So, on that note, this week’s music video of the week is Future of the Left’s “The Hope That House Built”. Their album that this song is from, Travels With Myself and Another, was one of my favorite’s of 2009.
A Magical? April Weekend
The line-up for Coachella, the huge three day music festival in Indio California, was announced yesterday. It includes headliners such as Jay-z, Muse, and Gorillaz. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday January 22nd at 10AM (doesn’t specify time zone). Three-day passes will be $269 plus charges from Ticketmaster (which will probably total something over $300). Click the cut for the poster showing the entire line-up separated by day.
Music Video of the Week!! – Kasabian
I’ve loved this British band a lot since their last album Empire. This is the first single off of their 2009 album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum called “Vlad the Impaler”. Noel Fielding, who plays Vince in The Mighty Boosh, plays Vlad the Impaler in the video. How can you not love that?
Spider-Man Musical Cannot, Will Not Die
Obligatory Mephisto joke. I’m sorry, it’s just that this seems to be how everything involving Spider-Man news needs to be introduced nowadays.
Being far from the only Spider-Man news today (reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise is coming) the Spider-Man musical “Turn Off the Dark” has somehow found new life. And here everyone thought it had gone the way of Uncle Ben and been put deep, deep under. However, that is not the case, as… as…
Does that say “Music and Lyrics by Bono and The Edge”?
Music Video of the Week!! – Grizzly Bear
Music Video of the Week!! – Queens of the Stone Age
There’s a few songs that I can’t put my finger on why the hell they are b-sides. “The Fun Machine Took a Shit and Died” is one of those songs. I don’t really know what song on Era Vulgaris I’d replace it with, but I would find a way to fit it on there. I think the only way to find the studio version of this song is on a 7″ single and the extended edition of Era Vulgaris. This video is a rip someone did of the Over the Years and Through the Woods live CD/DVD. If you don’t have that and are a QOTSA fan you need to get it immediately.
Music Video of the Week!! – Cave In
About six years ago if you asked me who my favorite band was I wouldn’t have said The Beatles, I wouldn’t have even said Led Zeppelin, I would’ve said Cave In. While they may not be the GREATEST band of all time, their album Jupiter kind of changed the way I looked at music.
I could only find a couple of ‘official videos’ of their songs. The one I like the best is actually just live video with the song played over it. It’s a great song though.
Cave In split up a while ago and have since reformed and released a new EP. Because the new songs are a great representation of their whole catalog I wanted to include a live video of one of them. Enjoy.
Music Video of the Week – Dig Lazarus Dig

This week’s music video of the week is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds ” Dig! Lazarus Dig!” from the 2008 album of the same name. If you’ve never heard the song before I’ll warn you, the chorus is quite catchy and infectious.
All You Need is More Money
There is a new release coming from Apple Corps and EMI Music regarding The Beatles. Soon there will be an apple-shaped USB that contains the entire Beatles catalog. The tracks will only be available with purchasing one of the 30,000 limited edition apple-shaped USBs. The only problem is that you only have a stereo option, and the USB costs more than The Beatles Stereo Box Set.
