Music Video of the Week!! – Unkle

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 10 - 2010

Each week when I look for a video I try to think of a song I really love. A lot of the time those songs don’t have music videos though. In the case of “Restless” by Unkle featuring Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age there’s no official video. I think they had some type of contest for fans to make their own video as I found two, and one is listed as the runner-up. Both of them are under the cut.

Music Video of the Week!! – OK Go

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 3 - 2010

I usually post a video for a song I think is really good, even if the video is decent.  This time however, I’m posting an amazing video for a pretty good song.  I wonder how many tries it took them to shoot this.  Video for “This Too Shall Pass” under the cut.

You NEED to see this video.

Music Video of the Week!! – Liars

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On February - 24 - 2010

For the first time ever I am posting a video of a song on a yet to be released album.  Here is the video for “Scissor” By Liars, off of their album Sisterworld, which will be released March 8th.

Music Video of the Week!! – Them Crooked Vultures

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On February - 10 - 2010

I watched all of last Saturday’s Saturday Night Live mostly just to see Them Crooked Vultures perform two songs on the show. I can’t really say the two songs they did were my favorites from their album, but thanks to that show and Hulu there are now some videos of them online that don’t sound bad. Video of them playing “New Fang” under the cut.

Music Video of the Week!! – Amon Tobin

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On February - 3 - 2010

I originally wanted to post “Surfing on a Rocket” by Air, but apparently EMI doesn’t allow embedding of videos with music they own in them. Way to hate promotion and exposure of your artists guys.

That’s not to say I don’t love the music of Amon Tobin, because I do. I’ve been a fan of his for quite a long time.  Under the cut is the video for “Four Ton Mantis”, off of his album Supermodified. It’s pretty weird and might not be safe for work because there are people creepily hanging around in their underwear in the video.

Music Video of the Week!! – Dillinger Escape Plan

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On January - 29 - 2010

Ahh!! Sorry about the lack of updates this week. I’m trying to catch up on Lost for next Tuesday and Mass Effect 2 came out this week.

If you asked me what was the best band with a guitar player, the only person left from the original line-up, who liked to wear sleeveless shirts in music videos and with a singer who often would sporadically run off the stage onto audience member’s heads/shoulders, I would HAVE to say Dillinger Escape Plan. Their video for “Panasonic Youth” is under the cut. And yes, some of the guys in the above picture are not in the video. I told you the guitar player with no sleeves was the only original member, remember?

Music Video of the Week!! – Future of the Left

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On January - 21 - 2010

Andy Falkous of Future of the Left, originally of Mclusky, is a great frontman. I’ve always dug the stuff he’s been involved in.  So, on that note, this week’s music video of the week is Future of the Left’s “The Hope That House Built”. Their album that this song is from, Travels With Myself and Another, was one of my favorite’s of 2009.

Music Video of the Week!! – Kasabian

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On January - 14 - 2010

I’ve loved this British band a lot since their last album Empire.  This is the first single off of their 2009 album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum called “Vlad the Impaler”. Noel Fielding, who plays Vince in The Mighty Boosh, plays Vlad the Impaler in the video.  How can you not love that?

Music Video of the Week!! – Grizzly Bear

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On January - 7 - 2010

I must warn you who are going to watch this music video that have never seen it, it is very weird and a little creepy.  The song is excellent and is one of my favorites of 2009, but the video is just odd.  If it creeps you out too much watching it, at least listen to the song.

Music Video of the Week!! – Queens of the Stone Age

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On December - 10 - 2009

QOTSA-Era VulgarisThere’s a few songs that I can’t put my finger on why the hell they are b-sides. “The Fun Machine Took a Shit and Died” is one of those songs.  I don’t really know what song on Era Vulgaris I’d replace it with, but I would find a way to fit it on there.  I think the only way to find the studio version of this song is on a 7″ single and the extended edition of Era Vulgaris. This video is a rip someone did of the Over the Years and Through the Woods live CD/DVD.  If you don’t have that and are a QOTSA fan you need to get it immediately.
