This week’s album is Passover by The Black Angels. It’s a great rock album to listen to while you’re driving. Be careful though, you might start to speed without realizing it. Check it out under the cut.

Music Monday – Florence & the Machine
Florence + the Machine consists of Florence Welch’s powerful, soulful vocals and backing from a variety of different musicians. The album “Lungs” is an emotionally intense effort, ranging from the angry kick of “Kiss with a Fist” to the passionate love song of “You’ve Got the Love” (which was later made into an excellent remix by the xx; also worth checking out). “Soul” is a word that would easily attach itself to the music of Florence + the Machine, and some of the tracks are very blues-y. Similar to Marina & the Diamonds and My Brightest Diamond. They also get compared to Bat For Lashes, but I don’t see the similarities as strongly there. Check it out under the cut.
Music Monday – Liars
Music Monday – B.R.M.C.
Is it a bad idea to post my favorite Black Rebel Motorcycle Club album first if I plan to post more? Well, maybe it is. Regardless, Take Them On, On Your Own is a fantastic album that should definitely be heard. The version on Lala is especially awesome because it contains tracks the regular CD release didn’t have, like the great “High/Low”. Check it out under the cut.
Music Monday – The Mars Volta
Though they have ‘fallen off’ a little bit recently, The Mars Volta used to be a very strong and wild band. This, Deloused in the Comatorium, their first full-length album, is proof of that. Things did get a little wilder after this album, but this is definitely one of their best. This is a recommended headphone listen for sure. And, for RHCP fans, Flea plays bass on this album.
Music Monday – Cave In
I’ve said this before; I love Cave In. They’re one of my all-time favorite bands. This was Cave In’s fourth full length album. It was their second space-rock album and first and only album for RCA. After releasing this they toured with the Foo Fighters and were more popular than ever before. I don’t know any Cave In fan that would claim this to be their favorite of all of their albums, but it’s still very solid. Music player under the cut
Music Monday – Air
This week’s music is the great 2004 album Talkie Walkie by Air. That’s supposedly not women singing on those tracks. It’s thin French men. I don’t understand why they’re wearing leather gloves on the album cover either.
