The trailer for Alexandre Aja’s (director of High Tension, the Hills Have Eyes(2006), and Mirrors) newest film just hit the internet sometime yesterday. It’s called Piranha 3D and it will be about prehistoric piranhas, that were released by an underwater tremor, eating people in a lake. Awesome premise there guys. Sounds like a mix between Megashark vs. Giant Octopus and that other movie about piranhas. Oh yeah, 1978′s Piranha, which was a Jaw’s rip-off. Is this a remake? And why the hell is Richard Dreyfuss, star of Jaws, in a remake of a Jaws rip-off? Does he need the money that bad? Trailer after the cut.

…MacGruber!!! The red band trailer for the movie version of this SNL MacGyver spoof surfaced on the internet yesterday and I wanted to share it with all of you. It seems like it could be a pretty funny movie. I definitely think the R rating will help it.

Two New Trailers to Satisfy the Nerd in You

I will admit right away that I flipped a coin to determine which movie I would feature a picture of for this post. The remake of Clash of the Titans just so happened to win that battle.
I don’t really feel too excited to see this movie. I liked the original, but I don’t know if the cheesiness was what make it likable or not. Anyway, the trailer is quick but action-packed. Judge for yourself whether or not you think this movie will rock.
The second trailer is for Kick-Ass, the film adaptation of the Mark Millar comic book. I’m skeptical about this one too, but I have higher hopes for it actually being good. Hey, maybe Kick-Ass fans will hate the film adaptation of this Mark Millar comic book as much as they hated Wanted!
New Prince of Persia Trailer Looks Promising

The new trailer for Mike Newell’s Prince of Persia adaptation actually got me pretty excited for the film and it didn’t even have anything to do with Jake Gyllenhaal’s rippling muscles, glistening in the Moroccan sun (this time anyways). The imagery and special effects look beautiful and seamless. This bodes very well because the final product is really going to need a sense of epic grandeur to work for me.
