This Week in SPAM!

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 8 - 2010

Is it wrong of me to glorify hilarious spam comments? If so, go ahead, call me wrong. Some of these are truly hilarious. Here are the 10 best SPAM comments to appear in my ‘Edit Comments’ box in the past week.

And just so you know, this isn’t made to make fun of people that didn’t learn English as their first language.

None of these are altered, except where noted. If relevant the post it commented on is mentioned.

If you can only read 1, make it #1.

Lightsaber! Brick! Fight!

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 5 - 2010

This is probably one of the coolest Star Wars related Lego videos you’ll ever see.  While you’re watching it and are in awe of how great it is think about this; the person who made this did it for a contest.  It makes it even better when you know a non-professional made this in their spare time.

I Have Your Downfall of Society Right Here – Toy Fair 2010

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 2 - 2010

This keyboard shown at the recent Toy Fair uses a default ‘ABCDEF’ format. That’s right, not ‘QWERTY’ . Although, QWERTY is available on the keyboard, it’s not the default. This may not be a completely bad idea, because there’s no real reason that we need to learn how to type with the keys in the order that they are on a keyboard. But, if you teach your kid to type on this and the world doesn’t magically switch to that format then they’re screwed.

It’d be Terrible to Sneeze

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On February - 26 - 2010

I’ve been playing Bioshock 2 recently, and earlier today I found this video via Kotaku of someone in a Jason mask carving the Big Daddy from Bioshock 2 out of wood with a chainsaw. The video is amazing and the music really enhances it. I’m not that great with my Japanese, so I can’t read the subtitles on the video, but I hope the final product is going to be put on display somewhere. Video under the cut.

Every Kid Should See Star Wars

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On February - 23 - 2010

But, what if they haven’t? This video answers that question. I guess it’s pretty hard in this technological age to not know some or most of the plot of the original Star Wars trilogy.  I give you Star Wars: Retold (By Someone Who Hasn’t Seen It)

Rest Easier Professional Worriers – UPDATED

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On January - 19 - 2010

Late last week The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists pushed the minute hand back on the Doomsday Clock.  We’re now 6 minutes away from self-annihilation instead of 5!  And there is rejoicing in the streets!

In mid-January of 2007 the clock was moved up two minutes from 7 to 5, so it’s nice to see we’re making some progress as far as that goes.

Fine, Let’s Talk About the Sexmotron

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On January - 13 - 2010

Okay, so in New Jersey they’ve unveiled a sex robot.  Yes, a man named Douglas Hines has created a robot that is designed specifically to have sex with.  Let it sink in.  Still, the most interesting part of this story?  The fact that his idea stemmed from the September 11th attacks.  Let THAT sink in.  Apparently he wished to find a way to reproduce personalities after the death of a friend.  From there it was apparently just a couple steps to making a sexbot.

Spider-Man Musical Cannot, Will Not Die

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On January - 12 - 2010

Obligatory Mephisto joke.  I’m sorry, it’s just that this seems to be how everything involving Spider-Man news needs to be introduced nowadays.

Being far from the only Spider-Man news today (reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise is coming) the Spider-Man musical “Turn Off the Dark” has somehow found new life.  And here everyone thought it had gone the way of Uncle Ben and been put deep, deep under.  However, that is not the case, as… as…

Does that say “Music and Lyrics by Bono and The Edge”?

Xbox-LIVE-LogoAs anyone who has turned on their Xbox 360 since Tuesday is most-likely aware of, Xbox Live has new features.  Just like Felicia Day showed during E3 this past summer, Facebook, Twitter, and Last.fm have arrived. But are they worth your time?
