Weekend Wonderer – Harry Potter

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On November - 26 - 2011

I’d never seen a Harry Potter film before last weekend, but I changed that pretty hard recently. I’ve now seen every one of the movies except for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which I’m going to be watching right now. Join me in my Potter watching conquest!

Everyone that sees this should comment below on which Potter movie is your favorite and why.

Weekend Wonderer – Post (non)Rapture Depressed?

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 22 - 2011

So, the rapture didn’t happen yesterday. Though, if you believed an 87-year old man that said the same thing in 1994 should anyone really feel bad for you? Anyway, it didn’t happen, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get yourself some rapture.

Weekend Wonderer – L.A. Noire Preparation

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 15 - 2011

It’s Sunday evening, which is a little late for a weekend wonderer, but you can still use tomorrow to accomplish this one. The highly anticipated video game L.A. Noire is going to be released this coming Tuesday. In order to prepare for that watch these LA crime films, and listen to some songs from the soundtrack.

Weekend Wonderer – Free Comic Book Day 2011

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 7 - 2011

Rise and shine fellow nerds! Unless you’re on the west coast, because it is EARLY there. As GLaDOS has said, it’s been a long time. If FCBD doesn’t mean anything to you, you A.) Might not be into comics, or B.) Are terrible with abbreviations. Free Comic Book Day is the comic industry’s yearly holiday of sorts. Every first Saturday of May participating comic shops give away special issues for free! I was going to pick certain issues that you should look into, but I think you should check out the list here and decide for yourself. They are free after all.

The Walking Dead: Compendium One – Weekend Wonderer

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On October - 2 - 2010

The other day I mentioned something about how if you haven’t read The Walking Dead you really should. Well, this compendium is the perfect place to start. It’s 48 issues and 1088 pages of goodness. It retails for $60 at most bookstores, but if you’re willing to wait Amazon currently has it for almost half that.

Weekend Wonderer – The Avengers & Superman

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 11 - 2010

First off, I’m gonna say I’m wondering why in the big fat obese humongous hell Edward Norton won’t be back as the Hulk in the Avengers movie?  They claim it’s not a money issue and that it’s more of a situation regarding Norton not being a “ensemble” type of guy, but I don’t know… there was too much dispute after the Incredible Hulk came out to be sure.

Weekend Wonderer – The Venture Bros.

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On June - 19 - 2010

In honor of Father’s Day this Sunday you should remind yourself how lucky(hopefully) you are that ‘Dr.’ Rusty Venture isn’t your father.

Video of the Week!! – Modnation Racers

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 17 - 2010

This week’s video is the upcoming Modnation Racers from Sony and United Front Games. They took the idea of “Play. Create. Share.” that Sony started with Little Big Planet and transferred it to a world quite similar to Mario Kart. You can create your own drivers, your own cars, and even your own tracks. The second official trailer is below the cut.

The second video this week is what I’m pretty sure is the most recent trailer for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie. You know, the Disney backed Jerry Bruckheimer produced video game adaptation. Hey, they did turn a ride into a blockbuster. Check the trailer out under the cut.

Weekend Wonderer – Halo & Just Cause 2

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 15 - 2010

If you have, or can get your hands on a copy of Halo:ODST, the Reach beta is open to everyone who owns an Xbox until Monday. An Xbox Live Gold membership is not required. I’m pretty sure this also goes for the multiplayer on ODST and Halo 3.

I’m still hoping to review Just Cause and have yet to finish it, so join me in playing (but not really because it’s single player). I’m not going to say too much about it in order to not spoil the most likely upcoming review, but it’s a crazy game that’s pretty fun to play.
