Weekend Wonderer – The Avengers & Superman

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On July - 11 - 2010

First off, I’m gonna say I’m wondering why in the big fat obese humongous hell Edward Norton won’t be back as the Hulk in the Avengers movie?  They claim it’s not a money issue and that it’s more of a situation regarding Norton not being a “ensemble” type of guy, but I don’t know… there was too much dispute after the Incredible Hulk came out to be sure.

In honor of Father’s Day this Sunday you should remind yourself how lucky(hopefully) you are that ‘Dr.’ Rusty Venture isn’t your father.

Video of the Week!! – Modnation Racers

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 17 - 2010

This week’s video is the upcoming Modnation Racers from Sony and United Front Games. They took the idea of “Play. Create. Share.” that Sony started with Little Big Planet and transferred it to a world quite similar to Mario Kart. You can create your own drivers, your own cars, and even your own tracks. The second official trailer is below the cut.

The second video this week is what I’m pretty sure is the most recent trailer for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie. You know, the Disney backed Jerry Bruckheimer produced video game adaptation. Hey, they did turn a ride into a blockbuster. Check the trailer out under the cut.

Weekend Wonderer – Halo & Just Cause 2

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 15 - 2010

If you have, or can get your hands on a copy of Halo:ODST, the Reach beta is open to everyone who owns an Xbox until Monday. An Xbox Live Gold membership is not required. I’m pretty sure this also goes for the multiplayer on ODST and Halo 3.

I’m still hoping to review Just Cause and have yet to finish it, so join me in playing (but not really because it’s single player). I’m not going to say too much about it in order to not spoil the most likely upcoming review, but it’s a crazy game that’s pretty fun to play.

Weekend Wonderer – Make Your Mom Something

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 8 - 2010

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, so make something for your mom.  I think it’s almost impossible for mom’s to not appreciate something you made for them.  It most likely takes them back to when you were a kid and made macaroni necklaces and things like that.  If your mom likes a lot of pop culture you can probably find some paper-craft stuff she would appreciate. If not, you can always papier-mâché your head so she can put it on a shelf.

I got the above picture here.

Weekend Wonderer – Did I Mention Today is Free Comic Book Day?

Go to your local comics shop, pick up some free ones, buy some non-free ones.  That’s it: go, get, buy, read, and enjoy.

Weekend Wonderer – DMZ

Posted by Dillon St. Jean On April - 24 - 2010

In desperate need of something to do this weekend?  My best offer to you this go around would be to catch up on DMZ, the Vertigo title by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli.  The series focuses on Matty Roth, a interning journalist who winds up caught in the heart of Manhattan during a modern day Civil War.  Over time, Matty becomes one of the biggest bargaining chips imaginable within the conflict, resolving disputes and uncovering weapons trafficking.  Let’s just do a brief surveillance of the volumes that have already been released to keep you informed:

Weekend Wonderer – Terminator Franchise

Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not indulge yourself in the watchable entries in the Terminator franchise(by watchable I mean movie or TV)? So what if there’s rampant discrepancies in the timelines depending on which entry your watching. It’s still entertaining.
