Video of the Week!! – Skate 3

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On May - 3 - 2010

Skate 3, the next entry in the undisputed best skateboarding video game franchise comes out May 11th.  In honor of that, this week’s video of the week is the first trailer that came out for the game around 5 months ago.  Check it out under the cut.

The second video this week is the second trailer from the new Robin Hood movie starring Russell Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott. “I declare him to be an OUTLAW!!!” Also, Mark Strong is in everything now huh?

Video of the Week!! – Lost Planet 2

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On April - 26 - 2010

Usually video of the week is either a game that comes out the next week, or a movie that comes out the Friday after the current week, but this time it’s a game that comes out in two weeks. There are no worthy games this week and three things I know I’d like to show you guys next week, so why not just go with one of them right now. The trailer is a fairly long story trailer. If you were thinking about getting this game, this trailer should get you hyped up.

The other video this week is a 2 minute clip from Iron Man 2 where Tony Stark jumps out of a plane and lands in a convention center. Check them both out under the cut.

Video of the Week!! – Super Street Fighter IV

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On April - 19 - 2010

This week’s video of the week is the new character trailer from Super Street Fighter IV, which will be releasing April 27th. This was back before Hakan was announced, so it only shows nine characters and gives you the hint of a Turkish oil wrestler at the end.

I also included the trailer for 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The game looks pretty good and will serve as a nice lead-in to the actual World Cup this summer.

Video of the Week!! – A Nightmare on Elm Street

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On April - 12 - 2010

The A Nightmare on Elm Street remake starring Jackie Earle Haley doesn’t start until April 30th, but since I posted The Losers trailer by accident a couple weeks ago I don’t really have anything left that comes out next week.  Check out the trailer under the cut.

I’m also including a trailer for Harry Brown. It stars Michael Caine as a man who’s had enough of what is happening in his neighborhood.  Harry Brown also starts April 30th, but in limited release.

Video of the Week!! – Splinter Cell: Conviction

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On April - 5 - 2010

Next week, April 13th, the long awaited, and often delayed Splinter Cell: Conviction will hit store shelves.  Here is the launch trailer.  If you pre-order at Gamestop you’ll get a silenced shotgun (anyone who saw No Country for Old Men should want that) and access to the upcoming Ghost Recon beta.

I also wanted to include another trailer for Kick-Ass. It’s slated to be released April 16th. This is the restricted Hit Girl trailer. She doesn’t have super powers, but she can dodge bullets.  I’m also pretty sure her voice is supposed to be a 12 year old girl’s best impression of Christian Bale as Batman.

Video of the Week!! – The Losers

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 29 - 2010

This week’s video is a trailer for The Losers, a movie where Jeffrey Dean Morgan doesn’t die in the first 5 minutes (complete assumption). It looks like it could be pretty cool, right? It’s coming to theaters nationwide April 9th.

The second video for this week is a trailer for The Good,The Bad, The Weird. It’s available on DVD already internationally, but is coming to the United States in limited released April 9th.

Video of the Week!! – Clash of the Titans

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 22 - 2010

I was initially skeptic about how the remake of Clash of the Titans would stand up to the charm and terrible special effects of the original.  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t really think it’s going to be a good movie, but it definitely looks entertaining.  I also don’t really think the 3D is going to be worth the extra $5.

The second video is a trailer for The Warlords.  A Chinese war epic starring Jet Li, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Andy Lau.

Video of the Week!! – Just Cause 2

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 15 - 2010

This week’s video of the week is Just Cause 2′s E3 2009 demo.  If this 10 minute long gameplay video doesn’t make you want to try the game then I don’t think anything else will.  The guy that plays it knows what he’s doing.  There is a demo out now if you do want to try it.  The game comes out next Tuesday, the 23rd.

The runner-up this week is How to Train Your Dragon, or  Dreamworks How to Train Your Dragon – in 3D.  It looks like another cute movie from Dreamworks that will be nominated for an Academy Award in best animated film, but lose to whatever Pixar releases this year, so Toy Story 3.

Video of the Week!! – God of War III

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 8 - 2010

After being in awe of the demo shown at E3 last summer I almost can’t believe God of War 3 is coming out next Tuesday. Well, it’s almost here. And, here is one of the latest trailers for it.

Also included is a trailer for Repo Men, the new Jude Law movie.  It looks like a decent action/hero on the run movie.

Video of the Week!! – Green Zone

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 1 - 2010

This movie looks sweet. It kind of makes me wonder why Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon don’t want to do anymore Bourne movies, because this one looks kind of similar.  Paul Greengrass is directing this movie too, even weirder. Anyway, it looks like a good action movie.

I also wanted to feature a trailer from The Secret of Kells. It’s nominated for an Oscar for Animated Feature Film, but it doesn’t release until March 12th.  I heard they ran it for a week somewhere so it could be nominated. Not sure how I feel about that, but check out the trailer.
