There’s only one film that I’d recommend you see this week, and that’s Joe Carnahan’s The Grey starring Liam Neeson. A plane full of oil rig workers crashes in Alaska, and they have to fight the elements, hunger, and wolves to survive. I posted the trailer for this as video of the week last week, and you can check that out here.
This week we have an action movie created for a mixed martial arts fighter, an action movie highlighting the Tuskegee airmen, and an action movie about vampires fighting werewolves. A week full of action movies.
This week we have three movies, two of which are limited. The only wide release of the bunch is Contraband.
This week we have three limited releases. Hopefully they’re showing somewhere near you.
Sure, Twilight and Happy Feet 2 came out today, but you should be going to see The Descendants if anything. Well, unless you’re under 10, or an insecure girl. The Descendants looks like Alexander Payne’s version of Up in the Air. Or was Up in the Air Jason Reitman’s version of Sideways? Anyway, I really want to see it. Check out a trailer below.
This week we have some foreign police, Greeks, a presidential biopic, a terrible terrible thing, and a drama by a director a lot of people hate.
It’s a holiday! I have the day off! Not from Never Not a Nerd, but from my day job.
The Never Not a Nerd Show has been postponed (due to no power from Snowmageddon), and hopefully we’ll get to make that up next week. Until then, we’re going to do what we normally do on the show and “Marry/Bang/Kill” these three movies.
I was tempted to say “the theaters punch you, because everything sucks this week!”. True to my “Marry” pick for the week on The Never Not a Nerd Show I suggest if you see anything you make it The Three Musketeers in 3D. There are horror and comedy movies coming out this week, but I guarantee this will be the funniest, and at the same time, the most frightening movie of the week. Why frightening, you ask? I’d bet money that this has an ending that suggests sequel.
I already have plans to get buzzed and see this. We can suffer (and giggle) together!
