Video of the Week!! – Clash of the Titans

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 22 - 2010

I was initially skeptic about how the remake of Clash of the Titans would stand up to the charm and terrible special effects of the original.  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t really think it’s going to be a good movie, but it definitely looks entertaining.  I also don’t really think the 3D is going to be worth the extra $5.

The second video is a trailer for The Warlords.  A Chinese war epic starring Jet Li, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Andy Lau.

Video of the Week!! – Just Cause 2

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 15 - 2010

This week’s video of the week is Just Cause 2′s E3 2009 demo.  If this 10 minute long gameplay video doesn’t make you want to try the game then I don’t think anything else will.  The guy that plays it knows what he’s doing.  There is a demo out now if you do want to try it.  The game comes out next Tuesday, the 23rd.

The runner-up this week is How to Train Your Dragon, or  Dreamworks How to Train Your Dragon – in 3D.  It looks like another cute movie from Dreamworks that will be nominated for an Academy Award in best animated film, but lose to whatever Pixar releases this year, so Toy Story 3.

Weekend Wonderer – God of War

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 13 - 2010

Starting to sense a theme?

Wondering what to do this weekend? Why not refresh yourself on the God of War series. If you own a Playstation 2, which a ton of people do, you can get both God of War and God of War II for around $30 bucks.

But, if you own a Playstation 3, which you should in order to fully appreciate the excitement of the upcoming God of War III, you can get the God of War Collection, which is the first two games in HD on one disc. It’s available from Amazon.com for $29.96.  That doesn’t really help you this weekend though.  So, if you live near a Best Buy, it’s $30 there.

Sci-Friday – The Fifth Element

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 12 - 2010

Luc Besson has written/directed some crazy films.  The Fifth Element is one of them. The story of the movie isn’t really what’s going to draw you to this one, so is there much of a point of recapping it? It’s silly, nice to look at, Milla Jovovich stars, and it’s entertaining. Enough said. Trailer below the cut

Caprica – New episode at 9PM on SyFy titled The Imperfections of Memory. Promo below the cut.

People We Admire – Terrence “T.C.” Carson

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On March - 12 - 2010

This is probably going to be one of the shorter People We Admire’s, but it’s relevant.  Terrence “T.C.” Carson may not be a name known by too many people, but for video game and Star Wars fans, you’ve seen, or should I say heard his work before.  He’s had some film and television roles in the past, the one that sticks out most in my mind is Final Destination 2, but he is without a doubt the star of the God of War franchise.  He has voiced Kratos in every iteration of the game to date, and if they decide to continue making games in the God of War universe I have no doubt he’ll continue to voice the angry Spartan.  He has also voiced the Jedi Mace Windu (no, I didn’t plan to feature him right after Samuel L. Jackson) in most of the video games he has appeared in as well as the Star Wars: Clone Wars series airing on Cartoon Network.

I’d bet that a lot of people are going to be picking up God of War III this coming Tuesday, or even at midnight that night. And  If you didn’t know who was behind that powerful angry voice of Kratos, now you do.
