Brush With Death
Here is a partially animated, special effects heavy, video of an art battle that was sent in by friend of the site Monika. Here’s what she said about it:
Here’s a cool short film … It’s not exactly animated, but still pretty sweet. I found out about it through Futures+ Design (find them on Facebook and tell any friends interested in [architectural] design!). It’s “an insanely awesome blend between street art, graphic design, and cinema”.

MOTU & TMNT Characters Realistic-afied
Dave Rapoza seems to really like doing “realistic” versions of cartoons from his childhood. His most recent set is Masters of the Universe characters. He also did a fairly large set of characters from from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You can check out a few more examples below.
