I did a lot of reading to catch up or acquaint myself with all of the series/issues below.
I very carefully select which comics you should be reading for you. You know, so you don’t have to do that work yourself. I’ve either read these issues, or parts of these stories, so I know they’re good. Here are the comics I think you should be spending money on this week.
Elfquest Complete Vol. 1 - Issues 1-20 all in one book. This is the only one I haven’t read, because it’s so long and I planned poorly, but I’ll try to get on it.
Nailbiter #4 - Great series about a town that produced a bunch of nasty serial killers and someone covering up the secret of their connection.
Nightworld #1 - This book is weird, but I dig it. It’s actually pretty poetic, and sort of confusing. I’m not going to pretend I fully understand what’s going on, but I’m interested enough to keep reading. It’s only four issues too, so I’ll be sure to see this through to the end.
Rocket Raccoon #2 - This is freaking great. It’s very funny and mixes in pop culture references in a great way. Like, the sound of the prison floor breaking being “Shaw-shank”. I wish more issues of this were out so I could read them all, but there’s just two so far, and that’s the worst part about this series.
The Squidder #2 - Great art – you need to see the line work, a great messed up world, and an intriguing protagonist. You should really check this out.
Trillium - Such a great book. I’m not going to spoil it here, but if you liked the movie The Fountain or like alternate reality stuff check this out.
Usagi Yojimbo: Senso #1 - A new six issue series featuring the rabbit samurai. It handles politics and the situations of battle for the time period well even in a single encounter.
