This is kind of old news now, but MTV has decided to remove the words “Music Television” from underneath its logo. It’s one of those things that’s sad, but you’ve seen it coming now for years. I wasn’t particularly a fan of the type of music MTV would back when they did play music videos, but they’ve replaced that time with shows like The Hills and Jersey Shore, two shows in which they cite the success of as being part of the reason for the change.
This is a hilarious video from the show SuperNews about how MTV, as far as a music channel goes, is dead. I also don’t think anything captures the level of idiocy of The Hills cast members quite like SuperNews does.
I liked Beavis & Butthead, but at least they watched music videos during the show.
