Mark Millar, creator of Wanted, Kick-Ass, and the yet to be released Nemesis is already talking about a Nemesis movie. On his website MillarWorld.tv message boards he drunkenly says he has been talking to a director that threw out the names Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis as potential stars. The unnamed director is supposedly friends with one of the mentioned actors.
It seems as though every time someone says a director’s name or someone expresses any interest whatsoever to Millar he posts it on his message boards in a “it’s most likely maybe going to happen, possibly” kind of way. The above ‘news’ comes about 10 days after Millar says that a “HUGE director” got in touch with him via his agent, said it wasn’t Sam Raimi and that he was going to wait until Nemesis goes up for auction in March in a later post, said Raimi wasn’t out of the question , and then this.
Can anyone REALLY believe the things Mark Millar is saying anymore? I think we better wait until a movie studio makes an official press-release before people get excited about anything he says.
Millar’s drunken statement found at io9 here. If you’re interested in learning more about the comic series Nemesis, which actually sounds very cool, you can find more info at CBR here.
