It’s awesome that the week I say things are going to be better this month than last month I get a cold that puts me out of commission for a few days. Anyway, I hope to make up for at least the features I missed this week, today.
Here are the important video game releases from this past week.
So, to kick off my month of covering webcomics from my youthier-youth, I figured a good place to start would be the one that introduced me to true disappointment. Not for quality, because I always loved RPG World by Ian Jones-Quartey. No, this disappointment came from its all too sudden demise, timed at just about the ending to the story. That’s right – RPG World is a webcomic that went on throughout most of its story, and just as we were about to see the final battle take place between the heroes and the villains, Ian stopped. He just lost all interest in RPG World as a whole and never ended it. He announced that it was over for good a few years later, and here I am, a broken shell of a man. Or perhaps that’s too extreme?
I think the only way this concept could be cooler is if he had a robot arm or something. If you’d like to buy this shirt, do so here.
Last week Entertainment Weekly’s cover featured an image of Chris Evans as Captain America. Look at that face. Doesn’t he just look all-American?
In keeping with insane logic and how frequently violence is deemed more appropriate than nudity, I figured I’d hit you with Invincible bleeding heavily just to introduce what could be the craziest thing I’ve seen today. A new Image Comics teaser has been released with the tagline “THIS IS THE SHAPE OF THE UNIVERSE”. And you know what? I couldn’t be more confused. Check the full thing to see something I never expected. Reminder: NSFW, I guess. It’s impossible to tell what bothers people nowadays.
Seriously, look at that. Look at the silhouette. It’s like his hair has is happy to see me. Oh man, and that dog. You know, what’s-his-name. Rin Tin Tin, or whatever. That face. And its eyes are so sinister. That reminds me, didn’t Tintin have tiny, soulless eyes? Or was that Annie I’m thinking of? I don’t know, and to be honest I don’t really care. Sure, I wouldn’t mind finally going back and reading the Tintin comics, but outside of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost being in this film I have no strong desire to see it. To be frank, motion-capture is my least favorite style right now. I’m not a fan, and I haven’t been since Beowulf. Maybe we could have seen a nice stop-motion movie? Just figured I’d take the time to comment. Sure as hell did plenty of that for the Smurfs.
