You know, at first I thought “I’m pretty burnt out, maybe I should just tackle an easy webcomic this week.” Nope. I instead opted for Badass Muthas! by Dave Ryan. Granted, it hasn’t seen an update in a while. But that doesn’t mean what’s up there isn’t cool. I quite frankly just love the character designs of the series. Con artists and demons and dog people and banana people. Not only that, but there’s an actual story at work here, folks. This ain’t your one-off punchline comic. No, this is in fact an ongoing series following characters the likes of Guy McFly and some key misfits that fight incredibly often.

Weekend Wonderer – Halo & Just Cause 2
If you have, or can get your hands on a copy of Halo:ODST, the Reach beta is open to everyone who owns an Xbox until Monday. An Xbox Live Gold membership is not required. I’m pretty sure this also goes for the multiplayer on ODST and Halo 3.
I’m still hoping to review Just Cause and have yet to finish it, so join me in playing (but not really because it’s single player). I’m not going to say too much about it in order to not spoil the most likely upcoming review, but it’s a crazy game that’s pretty fun to play.
NBC Canceling a Show People Loved and a Show People Loved to Hate
Yesterday NBC announced that it wasn’t renewing Law & Order or Heroes for another season.
Law & Order was on TV for 20 seasons, and is tied with Gunsmoke for the record of longest running prime-time drama. NBC will still be carrying new episodes of SVU.
Heroes, a show that I don’t think anyone really liked anymore, was rumored to be renewed for another season as late as last week. Thankfully you’ll no longer have to suffer through any more ridiculous plot lines.
Sci-Friday – Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure - A movie about two slacker friends who are trying to start a band, and because of that aren’t doing too great in school. Unless Ted passes his history class his dad is going to send him to military school. In order to prevent this from happening a man named Rufus from the future tells the duo that unless they remain together the future of humanity is doomed. So, in order to prevent Ted from failing history he lets them use his time-traveling phone booth to gather information for Ted’s report. They accidentally kidnap Napoleon and then decide to kidnap a bunch of other historical figures in order to pass. Uhh…San Dimas High School football rules!!

People We Admire – Dave Grohl
I promise to try to keep this short and sweet. There has yet to be a musician as a person we admire. When trying to come up with someone I gravitated toward Dave Grohl. He has had such an amazing career, that I don’t think is anywhere near over.
Just like most musicians his first few bands weren’t that big. But, coming up in the time frame and scene he did he ended up befriending The Melvin’s Buzz Osborne, who introduced him to and helped him land a try-out with Nirvana. He obviously got the gig, and then the amazing career really began.

When Titans Pimp-Slap
Kick-Ass is a movie about a guy named Dave Lizewski who’s maybe just crazy enough to attempt being a superhero. After he and his friends get mugged so many times, but mostly because he’s bored with his life, Dave decides to give being a superhero a try. He buys a weird looking wetsuit and mask and starts walking around town in costume trying to get the hang of it. The first time he actually tries to intervene in a crime he gets stabbed and then hit by a passing car.
The stabbing/accident gives him nerve damage, which dulls his ability to feel pain, and way more metal plates in his body than the one he had in his head in the comic. After a while he sets out as Kick Ass again. The next time he encounters a crime he ends up saving a guy from getting beaten to death in a parking lot while an onlooker films the whole thing. That’s the part when he yells “I’m Kick-Ass”. The video gets posted on Youtube and he becomes an internet sensation.
