Seriously, let’s not forget that there’s other stuff going on. 24 is back. Smallville is still… just… awful. Also, this is the final season of Supernatural, the show about two brothers fighting demons and monsters across the country. Frankly I’m much more interested in how Supernatural is going to end, because it doesn’t confuse the holy hell out of me. Hell, Supernatural, defying all odds due to being on the CW, has some of the best writing I’ve seen on television for a sci-fi show. Despite having so many episodes that appear at first glance to be filler stories, they all manage to apply to and further the plot of the season. Now we’re watching the lead up to the big battle between Michael and Lucifer, assuming Sam and Dean allow the fight to take place.

Sci-Friday – Smallville
Smallville – I’ve personally never seen Smallville, so i can’t really vouch for whether it’s a good show or not. Apparently Dillon hates it. However, tonight at 8 will be the two hour episode Absolute Justice written by DC comics own Geoff Johns. Again it airs at 8PM EST tonight on the CW.
Caprica - The third episode of the Battlestar Galactica prequel airs tonight at 9PM EST on SyFy.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars – The episode Voyage of Temptation airs tonight at 9PM EST on Cartoon Network. It involves Obi Wan encountering a woman he had a romantic past with. I remember them talking about this episode during the Star Wars panel at ComicCon.
Mighty Boosh – Yeah, this is a Brit comedy show, but this episode has a talking gorilla. It’s on Cartoon Network at 1AM EST.
Jack Bauer is Boring Me Lately
That’s a line I never thought I would say, but season eight of 24 just hasn’t really gripped me like it has before. In a show that features mostly ridiculous plot points you expect them to ratchet up the action and not rely on their storytelling ‘abilities’. Just a few years ago this show began with a former president being assassinated and an airport takeover, in the same episode! I know last year it took a while to build up and it got better, but I just can’t bank on that right now. There will be spoilers under the cut.
Music Video of the Week!! – Amon Tobin
I originally wanted to post “Surfing on a Rocket” by Air, but apparently EMI doesn’t allow embedding of videos with music they own in them. Way to hate promotion and exposure of your artists guys.
That’s not to say I don’t love the music of Amon Tobin, because I do. I’ve been a fan of his for quite a long time. Under the cut is the video for “Four Ton Mantis”, off of his album Supermodified. It’s pretty weird and might not be safe for work because there are people creepily hanging around in their underwear in the video.

Smurfity Smurfing Smurfnuggets
Good Lord… he’s in three dimensions. THREE OF THEM.
UGO has dredged up the first image of a Smurf from the upcoming (whenever that refers to) Smurfs movie. And I couldn’t be more Smurfy about it. I guess it’s just weird to see the clothing look like actual fabric, even kind of dirty and with seams. But considering there’s not much else to talk about beyond the fact that there’s a Smurf of indeterminate color in this image, I suppose we can talk about other things
Video of the Week!! – Dante’s Inferno

Given the choice between featuring one of the two games that come out next Tuesday I chose Dante’s Inferno. Yes, it looks a little derivative of God of War, but I don’t trust Bioshock 2 to be as good as the first game was. I also couldn’t even find a trailer for Bioshock 2 that I wanted to use.
The second video under the cut is for The Wolfman starring Benicio Del Toro. I was excited to hear that they went with an R-rated cut for this and really hope it’s actually good.
