I Think I’m Scared of Disney

Epic Mickey

Oh.  Oh my.

Apparently Disney has decided that the Kingdom Hearts series wasn’t awesome enough and has amped things up by creating Epic Mickey, a game wherein all of the forgotten Disney characters have risen up and decided that things need to change.  Therefore, as a perfectly reasonable course of actions, they have decided to just go ahead and turn the world of Disney into a chaotic acid trip.  Oh, and the acid is laced with gasoline.

Deadpool Is A Pretty Popular Guy

All right.  For anyone who doesn’t know, there will soon be a third ongoing series of Deadpool being released by Marvel.  Don’t get me wrong: I love me some crazy mercenary action.  Watching Deadpool slice up clowns and zombies, and sometimes clown-zombies is a great way to pass the time.  But to give him three ongoing titles simultaneously seems a bit too much like they’re trying to flood the market with their fan-favorite.  Remember when that was Wolverine?  Oh wait.  It still is.

Video of the Week!! – Where the Wild Things Are

Hollywood has run out of ideas once again and has made one of the most beloved children’s books into a movie.  I’m actually quite excited about this one though.  I’m not sure if the movie itself looks that great, or if I just really like the trailer with Arcade Fire in the background.  On that note, here’s the trailer.

Please Make it Final

FinalDestination4

This is the first in a trio of glorious movies I will write about that I have recently seen in 3D.  I had the lowest expectation for The Final Destination, both on quality of the overall movie and how good the 3D would actually be.  Surprisingly enough the movie was incredibly stupid, yet very watchable, and the 3D was done very well.

Super Street Fighter 4

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On October - 3 - 2009

superstreet fighter 4It would normally be upsetting that they’re releasing a fighting game so similar to one that just came out less than a year ago instead of just using DLC.  Apparently the team over at Capcom are actually changing some gameplay mechanics and might even be throwing in some bonus stages.  They also promise that Super Street Fighter 4 will not be a full priced game, it will be an appropriately priced expansion including six characters not found in Street Fighter 4. Trailer featuring three of the characters that will be added after the cut

We Were Tokyo Drifting Everywhere!

dirt 2 logo

Dirt 2 is the latest in the Dirt franchise  from Codemasters.  It’s also known as Colin McRae’s Dirt 2 in Europe and this is the first Colin McRae game since his death in a helicopter crash in 2007.  They had some big expectations to meet using the name of who was probably the most well-known rally driver worldwide. Did Codemasters succeed?

People We Admire – Marie Curie & Rosalind Franklin

Marie Curie Rosalind Franklin

The past couple of weeks I’ve let myself slide with the People We Admire feature. Today I am attempting to redeem myself with a double dose of female scientist…to admire. Both of these women have been dead for over 50 years, but that doesn’t mean you can’t admire them.  People still admire Jesus.

Panda Watch!

giant panda

Thanks Ron, this is Brian Fantana reporting from the San Diego Zoo….wait, no.

Seriously though….. there was an article on MSN last week from Rueters  about how Chris Packham, a British naturalist, thinks we should let giant panda’s die out because we’re spending too much money on keeping them in existence.  He blames the pandas fate on no one other than the panda’s themselves, referring to them as a weak species and having “gone down an evolutionary cul-de-sac”.  I assume he knows what is causing the major problem pandas are facing.  If you yelled “PEOPLE!!” than you’re correct.  Yes, giant pandas may only eat bamboo, but humans have destroyed most of their food supply, that’s why they’re endangered. To make a comment like Chris Packham did is kind of stupid and irrational.  I wonder if he would hang himself (I’m not saying he should, nor do I want him to) if every time he tried to eat something a giant panda smacked the bowl from his hand.  Because spending money to aid him in survival would be too costly, and of course he would have obviously put himself in that situation voluntarily.

Video of the Week!! – Brutal Legend

Posted by Jamie Concepcion On October - 1 - 2009

brutal legend

The reason I had Uncharted 2 as video of the week last week was so I could save Brutal Legend for this week. If you haven’t checked out the demo yet, starting today it’s available for everyone on both 360 and PS3, so you have no excuse not to. Trailer under cut.
